Moon in the Er-Quan

A beautifully-recorded collection of Classic Chinese Folk Music, featuring traditional stringed instruments, especially the erhu. The erhu is one of the most important Chinese instruments, with a history of over 4000 years. Though it has only two strings, it can convey a wide range of emotions. It is incredibly expressive, capable of imitating sounds from chirping birds to neighing horses. Its melodies can be tender or sonorous. Together with all of the other instruments of the traditional orchestra, it conveys the grand pageant of China’s history and the emotions of its people.
